I challenged myself to see what I could make in a single hour. And even though, it’s not as good I wanted it to be, it still came out better than I had hoped. This was also inspired a little bit by Expedition by Hyper Potions and Nokae. I hope you enjoy this.

Here we are. Two years on this site. I can’t believe it.

2020 is when I first joined. I had no idea what to expect. I’ve heard of Newgrounds from Geometry Dash since 2017, but I’ve never actually gone to look around the site. Three years later, I end up here making one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I didn’t feel like I was a part of the community though.

I think one of the best moments I had was when @TaintedLogic DM’d me a message talking about a music contest, NGUAC. Now I was only on the site for like five days at the time so I still had a lot of looking around to do. During those five days, I was already scouted. Had no idea what that meant before. But anyway, NGUAC was probably one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in my life, and I’ve done it for two years now. I still have yet to make it to the final round but we’ll leave that for another year, maybe this one if I’m lucky. If I’m honest, without Tainted sending me that message, I don’t think I would’ve ever found out that there were contests here.

After a few months of staying on NG though, I left the site and I didn’t come back until June 2021. That’s when I coincidentally uploaded my first song of 2021 on my 1-year anniversary of this account.

I also joined the NG Audio Discord server where I met a lot of amazing musicians. They gave me feedback on my music which I’m very grateful for. I thank everyone who did give me feedback, especially @Troisnyx for that point on the piano on my song Storm. I’m going to be trying to do that a lot more when I use piano in my songs.

Later that year, and I didn’t know this until someone else warned me (more than once too), all my 2020 songs contained GarageBand Apple Loops, meaning I used leads, bass, drums, and chords that were all from the app itself and not ones that I came up with on my own (except for two which are still on my account because they aren’t GarageBand). @ADR3-N was the first person to tell me about this via DMs. So I deleted all of those songs in order to not raise any more suspicion that I use Apple Loops in my songs.

In 2021, I started not using Apple Loops (except for SFX), which was a very good decision. I’ve seen people get audio banned for using Apple Loops and other stuff like Groovepad and all that, so I didn’t want to keep going that route and get the risk of getting banned from the audio portal.

On July 1 of 2021, I officially got whitelisted for Geometry Dash which was my main goal for being on Newgrounds. I was so happy that day because I could finally use my own music in GD. My friend @Jordi6304 helped me with that and I’m still grateful for him helping me get whitelisted.

I kept uploading music all throughout 2021 and into 2022 which leads to where we are today. I’ve met so many amazing people both here and on the audio Discord. I’m very grateful to be here and I hope to keep making everyone happy with my music. I know I’m not the best at producing music, but I hope to keep getting better as time goes on.

The hate on Autism needs to stop. Stop using Autism as an insult because you don’t know how many people are offended by you when you do. As an Autistic person myself, I can feel for everyone when they see someone use Autism as a way to insult someone, even if they may not see it as one personally. I don’t want this to keep going anymore. I know it may not stop completely, but if you do it, you can at least stop.

I didn’t really want to bring this out in the open but now is the best time, I think.

Last Sunday my Google account was hacked by some random guy in Brazil. What surprised me though is that when I got my account back, nothing was deleted or changed. Basically, all the person wanted to do was hack into my account and then delete it, which is pretty weird to me. Usually, I see people hacking into accounts and then compromising them in some big way, but that didn’t happen to me.

The next day, Monday, is the day I found out my account got hacked and was deleted. One of my friends in GD had messaged me asking why my YouTube channel was gone. He said:

”Sorry if I am invading your privacy. What happened to your YouTube channel? It’s ok if you can’t answer why you closed it (if it’s a personal reason), but please don’t get mad at me for asking.”

It was gone? So I went to look for it and it was totally gone. Then I looked at my emails and I had a security alert email and an account deleted email. After I recovered it, I replied to him:

“YouTube channel is back. Someone tried to delete my Google account but I was able to recover it in time. But I’m trying to get away from the internet for a few months. Don’t know how many tbh. Even though I’m on an internet break, I don’t want to delete everything off the internet. It’s not like I want my hard work to be gone. I’ve done this for 2 years and I’m not letting all my stuff go to waste because of someone else’s doing.”

We then had a conversation about it and it went like this:

My friend: “Wait, so your Google account got hacked? And the break from the internet… does it have anything to do with the whole thing?”

Me: Yes, my Google account was hacked but it’s been sorted out and luckily, they didn’t delete any of my videos (or really anything) in the process. My guess is that my password wasn’t secure enough and that they were able to get in without having to put in the phone number that is associated with the account because it never told me to change my phone number as well. The break is because of this. I think that if I just lay low for a few months, they won’t come back. They’ll see that I haven’t posted in a while. I don’t know if it’ll work like that but it can’t hurt to try. I’m also taking a break because I’ve been on the internet way too much like on Discord and YouTube and all that so I’m also trying to break away from all of that.”

My friend: “Oh dang, well, best of luck and stay safe. If you haven’t, you should change passwords, use 2 Factor Authentication, and check for malware (iOS is pretty safe though) like viruses or keyloggers.”

Me: “2FA is and has been on. There is no malware on my device and there hasn’t been any signs recently. I try to keep my passwords secure but I guess they weren’t secure enough.”

The conversation ended there. I probably should double-check for malware in the future just to be safe. But basically, this entire conversation summed up what’s going to happen. I won’t be online on Discord, I won’t uploading anything to YouTube, SoundCloud, etc. I am going to stay on Newgrounds though, because I’ve decided to stay here for whatever reason.

I know this may be hard to do since I have school and all that but when I have time to make music, I will make music. Yes, it’s going to be hard sometimes (of course), but I will make music when I can, when I have free time, when I’m not busy. I’m not going to be making music all day, every day, though. I do other stuff too. I have a life as well.

Anyway, that’s all I wanted to say. Sorry for not making enough posts like this. :/

What’s going on?

The reason I haven’t been uploading is because of school starting up again. Since I’m occupied most of the day during schoolwork, I don’t have a lot of time to work on any music.

Does that mean you’re not going to make music?

I’m not quitting making music. Time is basically what’s stopping me from making music. But if I have time to at least get something done, then you may expect a new piece in a few weeks. Remember that I have a life too. You just need to be patient.
